You can wear it at any age. You may wear it for almost any occasion; a ‘little black frock’ is essential to a woman’s wardrobe” – Christian Dior.  There just isn’t a more iconic closet staple than a little black dress. Whether you are used to dressing up for a night on the town all the time, or if date night once a year is more your style, you can’t go wrong with a little black dress. A little black dress is one of those pieces in your closet that you never want to part with. With it’s ability to slim the figure and add a level of sophistication to any look, black is arguably the most loved color in fashion. A little black dress symbolizes classic elegance, simplicity and style and it will look good on anyone who wears it! A little black dress, according to Vogue is “a sort of uniform for all women of taste.” But just how do you add a little bit of glam to this classic wardrobe essential? Bardot Bella Tulip Hem Dress The easiest way to add glam to the LBD (little black dress) is the dress itself. I love the sweetheart neckline of this Bardot Bella Tulip Hem Dress. The belt-like fabric fold at the waist accentuates my natural curves. And the tulip hem is such a flattering detail. The dress is tailored yet comfortable and easy to wear. I am wearing my typical XS and this dress fits me perfectly. Overall this dress is simple in design yet all the design elements come together to give this dress the complete wow factor that will definitely turn some heads. Emma Parker & Co. Jewelry With a dress like this speaking for itself, you don’t need overly glamorous jewelry to go with it. A simple silver and white sapphire necklace like the one I am wearing below perfectly accents the sweetheart neckline of the dress. I found this lovely necklace at Emma Parker & Co. Jewelry. This custom jewelry store is based in Lynwood, Washington, offers a quiet and personal showroom for local customers. They can however, ship anything they sell anywhere in the United States.  Emma Parker & Co. is know for their personalized service and their attention to detail.  To complement the necklace I am wearing the simple yet elegant silver drop white sapphire earrings found at Emma Parker & Co. The silver twisted white sapphire ring I am wearing perfectly coordinates with the necklace and earrings.  The white sapphire accents in the necklace, earrings and ring make each piece so luxe and dazzling! Each piece is absolutely exquisite in design and feel. Select the Right Bag The bag you choose to wear with your LBD is going to get noticed because the black serves as a backdrop to anything you’re holding. The bag doesn’t have to match the shoes or other accessories but it should blend well with the color scheme. I chose to wear a simple classic Chanel wallet on chain for an understated yet sophisticated look. To dress it up for the evening add a sparkly clutch such as this Tuileries beaded clutch. Add Glam with Your Shoes Dressing up the little black dress with shoes is the easiest way to accessorize the look. The right shoes can provide contrasting color or style to the dress. With this outfit, instead of adding contrasting color, I decided to add texture to the look through my shoes. I love these Badgley Mischka Weslee Pointy Toe Pumps. The sparkling crystals are so eye-catching and add the perfect amount of glam to the look. You’ll definitely feel like Cinderella when you wear these shoes! And I can tell you these shoes are every bit as nice as my Jimmy Choos or my Christian Louboutins. I find the shoes themselves to be very comfortable and the heel itself is not too high.    Every detail matters when it come to accessorizing your little black dress. Make sure your hair complements the dress. Wear it down with luxurious curls such as I have done. Or wear your hair up with a simple bejeweled hairpiece or ribbon to make a lovely statement with your LBD.  When it comes to makeup, choose eyeshadow, nail polish, and lipstick that highlight the best features of your face to give life to your entire look.
