|6 ways to style an eyelet dress for winter, spring, and summer.|
eyelet Madewell dress. (marked down to under $50) One of the requirements I have before I buy something is that I have to be able to think of at least 3 different ways to style it with pieces that I already have in my closet. This helps me avoid impulse purchases, and makes the pieces in my closet work seamlessly together. I usually don’t have too much trouble figuring out at least 3 different ways to style something, but every once in a while I stumble across something where I can immediately think of at least half a dozen ways to wear it. And I know it’s going to be a valuable addition to the closet. This eyelet dress I snagged from Madewell last week, is one of those pieces. So today I thought it would be fun to show you, the first 6 styles that popped into my head when I bought the dress. (Although, I’ve thought of a bunch more since then.) And good news, it’s on major sale, marked down to under $50 from $168. The great thing about this dress is that it’s easy to style it through all 4 seasons, and today I’m going to show you 6 options for the next 3 season. Winter, Spring, and Summer. WINTER: To style a dress in the winter it’s all about the layers. For the first look I went with an all black monochromatic look, which I think is always chic, and I paired the dress with a leather jacket, beret and riding boots. They second is a bit more classic with tights, heels and a fun pop of color with a bright coat. SPRING: In the spring the sun is starting to come out again, and while it’s warmed up quite a bit from winter, it’s still not exactly “warm.” So I always layer with a light jacket and then start to have fun with the shoes, like throwing on some loafers, or a pair of hunter boots for the inevitable rainy spring day. SUMMER: By summer, it’s warmed up enough that the dress can be worn on its own, which means having fun with accessories that pop. I love my bags to make a real statement in the summer months, and this cage bag and this straw bag are two of my favorite summer options.
