Valentine I’ve told myself repeatedly to stop wearing novelty outfits. When you’re nearing 30 I’m not sure it’s quite as cute anymore to dress up like you’re going to a themed party for every occassion. I guess this outfit kind of falls into that category…so I’m clearly never going to follow my own advice. But it’s all fun, and I think not wearing these red trousers to mark Valentine’s Day would be some sort of crime. They are a little louder than I’d usually be comfortable with, but as soon as I put them on I fell in love. They hug curves (almost to a fault as not having some kind of VPL was impossible!) and paired with my new cateye sunglasses, I felt pretty badass. Am I allowed to say that about myself? Whatever, I just did. I think after nearly twelve years, Miguel and I have ditched Valentine’s Day. We’ve got two anniversaries to keep up with now, so a third occasion to buy a card for seemed excessive. On one of our first ever Valentine’s together, we went to see National Treasure 2 at our tiny local cinema (despite not having seen the first instalment) because it was the only thing on. Ahh, Nicolas Cage and sticky floors covered in popcorn, could it get more romantic? We’ll probably keep up the tradition, only this time I’m hoping we’re able to catch The Shape of Water, which I feel might be a slight improvement on National Treasure 2. We’ll see! Whether you’re enjoying a day with a loved one or just practising some serious self-love, have a brill V-Day!
