Featuring our custom print, this long-sleeve dress is cut in printed woven silk crepe de Chine. Ultimately flattering, it is cut on the bias to create an easy sense of movement while skimming the body. It features an off-center slit neckline that can be closed with a single button closure, a hidden zip closure at the back, slits at the ends of the sleeves, and black piping along the seams that open into provocative slits.

The Story of the Silver Dress

‘Tis the week for silver dresses apparently! (Remember this dress I posted on Tuesday?) Earlier in December, I bought this Leith dress for New Year’s Eve… Under $100, something sparkly and fun, long sleeves… Everything I wanted in a New Year’s Eve dress, and the bell sleeves were just an added bonus. As you’ve probably figured out by now, I don’t have my photographer on hand everyday… I set aside outfits that I plan to wear to an upcoming event or have already worn out and about and then shoot them with Melissa during the few hour chunks I have her scheduled each week. I wanted to post my New Year’s Eve outfit a few weeks early to give anyone who was still searching for an outfit the chance to scoop up my dress in time for the 31st… And when I was searching for the dress I had bought on Nordstrom, I realized that it had already sold out. Hate when that happens! I was searching for a similar style to link to and subsequently found a dress that I liked even more than this one that was hanging in my closet! It met the same criteria… under $100, sparkly, long sleeves, but it was a bit more figure flattering for my shape with a cinched waist and v-neck. Thank goodness for Nordstrom’s return policy… They accepted my dress without the tag (I’d only worn it for about 5 minutes to shoot the photos with Melissa) and I scooped up this dress that I actually ended up wearing on NYE! Win, win. I won’t be shooting professional photos of the dress that I actually wore since the holiday has passed, but you can see a few photos of it on Instagram! If you’re in the market for a similar dress, here are some other cute (affordable!) options… If you’re not looking for a dress, I also love this shimmery top that’s under $40! This statement necklace is an oldie but a goodie from BaubleBar! (Yes, it’s all one necklace. Well technically, the choker is removable and wearable on it’s own, but the rest is all connected.) Sadly it’s sold out, but it looks so similar to the super-cool Dylanlex necklaces. Get the Look… Silver Dress (sold out; similar style here!) Gray Over-the-Knee Suede Boots (old; similar here) Milly Metallic Silver Clutch (old; similar here) BaubleBar Necklace (old; similar here & here) Loren Hope Bracelet Bite Lipstick in Beetroot And for my actual New Year’s Eve outfit… Silver Dress | Black Tights | Silver Earrings | Black Booties SaveSaveSaveSave The post The Story of the Silver Dress appeared first on bows & sequins.
