    Friday Favorites: Red Dress Edition

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now! HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYBODY! We’ve all made it through another week, and I hope everybody gets to spend some quality time with friends and family over the next couple of days. I wanted to start out today’s post with a FAVORITE find! This lace trim midi dress. THIS. DRESS. IS. FAB. Let’s start with the fact that it’s ONLY $49. #whatintheworld #fortyninedollars Now, in addition to the price, I’m going to list all of the other things I love about it. First of all, IT’S LINED. Thank you dress people. I feel like this should be a prerequisite for most dresses. Second of all, the spaghetti straps (see those on the last picture of the dress) are adjustable. GENIUS. Third of all, the back panel of the bodice is smocked. Which means it’s stretchy, comfy, and has some give. Which is awesome. I’m wearing a medium, and because it’s junior’s sizing a medium is a 7-9. A 7-9 in a junior’s dress is true to size for me. And I’m of course wearing my MUST HAVE strapless bra with it. lace trim midi dress /my favorite strapless bra / must have jacket / cork earrings (size Medium) courtesy of Nickel and Suede / bracelet stack courtesy of Accessory Conicerge / pom pom tote / must have wedges This dress is literally SUMMER DRESS PERFECTION. I don’t recall that I’ve ever owned a midi dress before, but I think the length is so much fun! The red color is absolutely stunning, and it comes in a gorgeous white too. And since it’s lined, you don’t have to worry about it being see thru! Use the code STMTset for 50% OFF this fabulous bracelet stack, which will make the entire stack ONLY $14! Here’s the whole look again. Tell me this pom pom bag isn’t one of the cutest bags you’ve ever seen in your life. (Click HERE if you want to see how I styled it with jeans and an embroidered top.) And the MUST HAVE wedges are making yet another appearance (true to size). Do you have the cork earrings yet? They are light as a feather and perfect for summer outfits (both casual and even some dressy, like today). I prefer the medium size. Get The Look For Yourself Here. Its just such a pretty dress. lace trim midi dress /my favorite strapless bra / must have jacket / cork earrings (size Medium) courtesy of Nickel and Suede / bracelet stack courtesy of Accessory Conicerge / pom pom tote / must have wedges And remember to use the code STMTset for 50% OFF this bracelet stack! If you have birthday and teacher gifts coming up, this set would be perfect! And you of course will need one for yourself too. This is an incredible deal. ********************************************************* Getting Reader Questions is a FAVORITE (did you see Wednesday’s post?), so I thought I would spend some time today answering a couple of READER QUESTIONS that I received after Monday’s post. *** Reader Question: Sheaffer, I hope this isn’t too personal, but what underwear are you wearing with these jeans? I don’t see any visible panty line, but I think I remember that you no longer wear thongs. Spill your secrets! I hate thongs, but I do wear them to keep from getting the dreaded panty line. I need to know! Nikki Hey, Nikki! Your question cracked me up! If you’ve been reading for awhile, you might have heard me talk about these Bliss undies. I’ve loved them for years, and I slowly replaced every last pair of underwear in my drawer with them. And if you’ve been reading the blog since the beginning, you know I also wore Hanky Panky original rise thongs for several years. But after I collaborated with Soma last month, I’m now a HUGE FAN of their vanishing line undies. I continue to wear and love the Bliss undies, but I do find that although both are incredibly comfortable, the Soma undies tend to stay put even better. And I’m telling you, a panty line is NON EXISTENT. So, I’m not really wearing my Hanky Pankys much at all anymore…because I’m telling you, the Soma undies are freaking magic. Click HERE if you want to go back to my Soma post where I thoroughly review the Vanishing Line Undies, the Vanishing Back bras, and the Cool Night’s Pajamas. On this particular day, I was wearing the lace hipsters. I also have and love the lace high leg brief and the microfiber hipster. I really do love them all! And as of Thursday night, they were running a special where you could BUY 3 UNDIES and GET 2 FREE! And while we are talking about these jeans, we need to talk about sizing. I very rarely size down in jeans. Because even if they are too big in the hips and thighs, if I size down, the waist is too tight. Well, as I said on Monday, I sized down 1 size these jeans (I have a 2Regular), so I felt confident that all of you should size down too. I’m receiving feedback from readers that is all over the place. A couple of readers have said they too sized down, a couple have said that they found them to be true to size, but the majority of feedback has been that they run small and that some of you have had to size up 1 or even 2 sizes! We are obviously dealing with some inconsistent sizing here. I hope that y’all like them enough to try another size if you need to, and I’m so sorry for all of the confusion. If you already got these jeans for yourself, please leave a comment saying what you did concerning sizing! *** Reader Question: What does seamless mean? Your tush looks fab. – Meg When I posted the above hiney shot of my jeans on facebook, Meg wanted to know what “seamless” meant because they online descriptions says the jeans are in fact “seamless”. MEG! I laughed out loud when I read your “tush looks fab”. Thank you, m’am. I think this picture below best illustrates how the jeans are seamless. Most jeans have a seam all the way down the outside of each leg as well as down the interior of each leg. Well, these jeans don’t have those on the outside! I’m not really sure what the positives are of that, except it just makes them more comfy, and I’m guessing it also gives the impression of a more streamlined look! embroidered top / the official jeans of summer / pom pom tote / must have wedges ******************************************* Continuing with the question theme, I’ve had several questions recently about my stacking rings after people noticed them on my instastories. I have 3 that I’ve collected over the last several years. I got two for Christmas, and I got one for an anniversary present. And here’s what’s fun, they’ve all been purchased on sale…for between 40%-60% OFF! Even on sale they are still quite expensive because they are real diamonds, but I absolutely adore them, and I wear them every single day. Click HERE for all Bony Levy rings that are currently on sale. The sapphire band is currently available AND ON SALE! (You can also click HERE for all Bony Levy rings on sale at Nordstrom Rack.) **************************************************** You ladies saw and loved this this drinks tee when I first showed it with my drawstring shorts. (Click HERE to see me wearing the tee with the shorts.) I wore the tee again with my new official jeans of summer and my new low profile blush wedges last weekend and thought it was a cute combo! I had a high school friend message me and say she picked up the tee for a winery trip she has coming up! Won’t that be so cute! I sized up to a medium for a relaxed fit. It is a little boxy, but if you do a 1/2 tuck, you’ll be all good! drinks tee / k.s. white earrings / official jeans of summer / blush low profile wedges Get The Look for Yourself Here: ********************************************** I can’t have a Friday Favorites without some puppy pics. So here you go… ******************************************** I hate to end this post with a tease, but think of it more as a Public Service Announcement. I first showed y’all this embroidered dress on Wednesday and let you know that I’d ordered it. Well, it came. And it’s awesome. Sadly, it’s already sold out (except for like 1 size). However, I wanted you to see it on me so you know that if it comes back in stock you need to pounce on it! At almost 5’4″, I’m wearing a petite small. It’s definitely on the short side, but I don’t mind wearing my dresses short. If 5’4″ or over, I’m betting most of you will want to wear the regular size (not the petite). And if you like your dresses knee length, you might even go with the regular sizing even if you’re or 5’3″ or so. It’s hard to say exactly how it will fit because it obviously depends on an individual’s leg length. And girls. Let me tell you what I think is the best part about this dress. Well, besides the gorgeous embroidery. You know how most embroidered tops and dresses like this are a stiff and crisp cotton? WELL, THIS DRESS IS A SOFT COTTON KNIT! So, not only is it a shift dress (my favorite dress cut) and a throw back to the Mexican dresses we all wore as kids, BUT IT’S ALSO A COOL COTTON KNIT! Which means it’s comfy and it doesn’t wrinkle! I didn’t love the white one, BUT I FREAKING LOVE THIS NAVY ONE. embroidered shift dress / earrings (make sure “Sheaffer Sims” is your host and you type in “roman chandeliers” / sandals (size up a 1/2 size) That’s all for today! Have a wonderful weekend with your people! The post Friday Favorites: Red Dress Edition appeared first on Sheaffer Told Me To.
