|The Dress Everyone Looks Amazing In|
|Girl With Curves|
Summer is all about fun prints and silhouettes in my wardrobe – especially florals and the overlooked trapeze dress. There are so many amazing options out there to choose from, so I want to share as many of them with you as possible! You never can have too many pretty dresses in your wardrobe, after all. Today’s look features a great, universally flattering silhouette that’s often overlooked: the trapeze dress. You may be familiar with baby doll dresses, the other well-known flowy dress shape, but with their underbust cinching, they are generally hard to pull off in a sophisticated manner unless you’re under 13 or pregnant (hence the “baby doll” reference). The trapeze dress, however, is much more sleek and modern, and is easy to wear for a multitude of occasions, from a weekend gathering like a baby shower or brunch, to date night. This dress is shorter than other trapeze dresses in my collection (I love a midi length on my frame), but it was too pretty to pass up! Plus, it’s less than $30 right now, down from $158 – even more reason to snatch it up! I love that it’s light, breezy, and super feminine without being form-fitting. An ideal look for summer. What I love most about a trapeze dress is it looks amazing on everyone! It’s semi-fitted in the bust area and conceals the body the rest of the way down, leaving one’s shape to the imagination. I personally find it super sexy to wear something loose fitting that shows off the legs but doesn’t reveal one’s shape. Styling a trapeze dress is really easy, which is another reason why I’m planning to add more of this silhouette to my wardrobe this season. For this outfit, I wanted to keep the focus on the shape and print of the dress, so I opted for a neutral clutch and heels – a combination I can wear to any summer event and feel comfortable in. That being said, you could easily wear a dress like this with flat, strappy sandals and a straw bag as well, or even belt the dress to show off your figure if you aren’t a fan of the billowy silhouette. Because of the bare shoulder aspect, you can really play up your earring game if you want to, perhaps with fun bright-colored tassels, or if you’d prefer to keep it classic, larger pearls will do just the trick.
